Petrella Tifernina is a comune (municipality) in the province of Campobasso in the Italian region of Molise, located approximately 13 kilometers (8 miles) north of Campobasso. As of December 31, 2004, it had a population of 1,280 and an area of 26.4 square kilometers (10.2 square miles).

Petrella Tifernina is bordered by the following municipalities: Castellino del Biferno, Limosano, Lucito, Matrice, Montagano.
